If you’re stingy like me, then why not look into a few cost-efficient alternatives to torturing your budget? I’ve compiled some of the sites where I learn about free events. From free museum days to discounted dinners, the following methods are a good way to experience Chicago without breaking the bank:
Facebook ads– Pay attention to your Facebook ads. Some of them are based on your interests and will sometimes present you with some really nifty opportunities.
Google Offers (www.google.com/offers)– Google Offers are typically not going to mean free, but they’re still great nonetheless. You’ll find incredible discounts on dinners for two, show tickets, and more.
Chicagofree.info– This is my all-time favorite website because as the name suggests, it advertises the free things to do in Chicago. It’s updated regularly, and offers many different kinds of things to do. This website is especially good about keeping you updated on free museum days.
Groupon.com– Very similar to Google Offers, Groupon offers discounted goodies at lovely prices.
Red Eye– Check out Red Eye as a newsprint publication or on their website. It lets you know what’s going on in Chicago, both news and entertainment-wise.
